Sharing Space 2, The Witness, and More

Hey guys,

I know it’s been awhile. If you follow me on Twitter you know that most of my time has been spent growing Project Fandom, the entertainment website I own. When I’m not managing the content and writers there, I’m writing my own reviews or recording one of the many podcasts we produce. It’s kept me super busy and not always allowed me the time I want to write fiction.

But that recently changed and I’m so excited to share my upcoming projects with you. Let me give you an update on what’s to come and when you can expect it.

Sharing Space 2

Just like the first time, this will be a serialized publication with each new book released every 4-6 weeks. It is currently a five-book series with all but the final book completely written. I’ve been working with a new editor, who is fantastic. I put out a call to my friends earlier this year, hoping to get referrals for one or two Black women editors (#SupportBlackWomen) and I got back an embarrassment of riches. The editor I chose has been extremely helpful in ensuring the Sharing Space series is the best it can be and worthy of the love we have for the characters. Sadly, she experienced a sudden loss in her family and needs some time to process and mourn. She offered her current clients a refund or the choice to reschedule. I chose reschedule.

For one thing, I completely understand what death and grief can do to your life; I’ve lost three people I loved dearly in the last four years. It didn’t seem fair to add losing work to everything she’s dealing with. Secondly, guys, she’s so damn good. For real. I will go into details in the books’ acknowledgments, but I’m not overselling it when I say she has been instrumental in improving the story I created for the next chapter in Chloe’s and Patrick’s lives.

You can expect Sharing Space 2 Book One: New Rules by mid-June. So, one more month, but I think it will be worth the wait.

Lily in the Middle

This is painful and I don’t think I’ve ever expressed what happened with this book to anyone – not even my husband.

Let me start by saying that I love Lily Hartwell. She is brilliant, funny, and complex. And I wasn’t doing her story justice. I went through so many re-writes and nothing felt like it was working. And I can’t even explain why. It’s just not the story I envisioned so I set it aside.

I’m not giving up, though. I’m just no longer willing to rush it and I had to give myself permission to table it for its own good. As much as I didn’t want to disappoint all the readers who’d been waiting for it, it would have been more disappointing to all of us if I put out a shitty book. I believe you’ll be reading about Lily one day.

The Witness

I’ll have an official synopsis to share soon, but I can tell you now that The Witness is about an attorney hired to take on a major corporation based in Portland, Oregon. Will an attack on her life stop her from getting justice for her client? Can the sexy detective with his own secrets protect her?

You’ll find out this summer.

The Donor

A woman awakens from a ten-year coma to find her family has moved on without her. (Early 2019)

Sharing Space (The Complete Series) Available Damn Near Everywhere

Even though I’m still waiting for the book to become available via iTunes and Google Play, I thought I’d share all the other places – and there are quite a few – you can find the complete Sharing Space novel.

You can now buy the complete series as one Kindle download for $3.99 here. It includes all six short novellas (naturally) and the excerpt from my next contemporary romance, Lily in the Middle.

You can also purchase the full series in paperback via Amazon here. It’s normally $12.99, but they have a reduced price now of $12.34. I think that’s for Amazon Prime members, but I’m not sure. Either way, if you love the feel of real pages in your hand, this is the way to go. It also includes the Lily in the Middle excerpt. If you’d like to purchase an autographed copy, please contact me before purchasing and we can make arrangements. You can use the contact form on this site.

If you’ve been waiting for the series to become available via Barnes & Noble for the Nook, you’re in luck. You can now download the full book for the Nook device and apps here. The full novel is also available for download at Kobo.

As soon as it’s available for iBooks via iTunes, for the Sony eReader, and Google Play, I’ll post an update.

If you haven’t already, a review on Amazon, Goodreads, B&N, etc. for your favorite book in the series would really be appreciated.

Keep reading. I’m writing.

Before Forever, Sharing Space #6, is Finally Available

It is with great excitement, and a bit of sadness, that I present to you Before Forever, the final book in the Sharing Space series. This whole journey has been amazing and 14 years in the making. I hope you all love it as much as I do. I will admit: I think it’s my favorite. You can purchase it here.

Make sure you continue reading after the end for a special message from me and an excerpt from my upcoming book, Lily in the Middle.

Vote For Book Six’s Title

Thank you all for the great title suggestions. I’ve narrowed it down to the three titles below. Since Facebook has done away with their poll feature, I’m going to upload three photos with a title listed on each. Just “like” the photo with the title you want to win. The title with the most likes will be the title of the final book in the Sharing Space series. You can vote until Friday, January 3rd at 5pm PST.

Title Choices

Pick the Title for Book Six

Happy holidays!

I love this time of year. My husband and I always take off the last two weeks so we can spend time with the kids from Christmas through the first week of January. It’s generally a time of sleeping in, playing games, eating a lot, and just being together. It’s the best two weeks of the year.

This year has been no different except I’m spending a lot of time writing. I have big goals for 2014 and writing every day will help me achieve them.

As I am putting the finishing touches on the final book in the Sharing Space series, I am struggling with a title. It’s the last one, after all, and it has to say so much. My husband, who is intimately aware of what happens in the final book and how it ends, has been trying to help me come up with a title, but we can’t agree on anything. I think we’re both way too close to it and there may be some serious over-thinking going on.

Then we got the bright idea to turn it over to you guys. You’re invested. You know the characters. Why not let you decide? Then we thought we’d make it into a contest because free shit. I mean, who doesn’t like free shit?

So, here’s how it will work:

  • You can submit as many two-word titles for book six as you want.
  • You can leave them in the comments below or on the Facebook status linking this post.
  • You can email them to if you don’t want to list them publicly.
  • You have until midnight on January 1st, 2014. (PT)
  • I’ll pick my top three favorites and create a Facebook poll where you guys will vote. The title with the most votes by the designated deadline will win.

The title MUST be two words only.

The winner will receive a signed paperback copy of the complete Sharing Space series AND will have a character named after him/her in my next book series scheduled for a May, 2014 release.

Now, you may be wondering how you can think of a title for a story you know nothing about. I got you, boo. Here’s a brief synopsis (no spoilers!) for the final book:

A new year brings a new set of challenges for Chloe and Patrick. Their relationship is still showing signs of strain due to the tragic loss they’ve suffered. When a major opportunity for Patrick leaves Chloe feeling disrespected, she makes a difficult decision she believes is best for both of them.

Distance and the harsh spotlight of fame leave them vulnerable to outside forces dedicated to keeping them apart forever. Can they admit their mistakes and find their way back to one another? If so, will it be too late?

There you go. Help a sistah out.

Keep reading. I’m writing.
